An Autumn Collective Haul – Autumn 2016

Hey Guys,

I’ve decided to post a haul post because I’ve never done one before but also because I’ve made a few big purchases recently. It’s not going to be a massive post because I always try and save my money in Autumn because, does anybody realise how expensive Christmas presents are?! I can’t find all of the product to link them for you but  I’ve linked them where I can!                  Anyway on with the blog,

Unicorn Onesie – H&M – £24.99

This ended up being my Halloween costume because I needed a quick and easy costume. A new onesie was on my Christmas wish list anyway so I’m counting it as an early Christmas present. It was quite expensive considering the normal price of thing at H&M and it isn’t particularly thick material. It’s incredibly soft and I love the design but it needs to be layered with other clothes to keep you warm. It served me very well on Halloween and I’m excited to be a unicorn this winter. Sadly, It’s not for sale in H&M anymore 😦
Black Velvety Boots – George in ASDA – £20.00
These are something I’ve been looking for for such a long time. Up until now I’ve had to borrow a pair of my mum’s boots which means my outfits rely on whether or not my mum is wearing them and she’s a size 7 while I’m a size 8 feet so they’re quite tight. Anyway, I saw these in ASDA while on holiday and I love them. I’d been holding back on buying boots as I hadn’t found any that I really really liked and they were too expensive  to be unsure about. However, these weren’t expensive at all, they seem good quality and I love them. I love the heel on them and have worn them so much. The only downside I have found so far is that although they fit, they are still quite big and so I have to wear thick-ish socks with them. Not that I’m complaining, Thick socks are a highlight of Autumn/Winter!
Forget-me-not blue Lunarglide 7 trainers – DW sports – £90.00
Another pair of shoes, I know. But to be fair, they were much needed. Before I got theses and the boots above, I owned 4 pairs of shoes which included a pair of slippers, 2 pairs of trainers and a pair of school shoes. Yeah, not great selection. I really needed new trainers because my other pairs STINK!!! They smell so bad I’ve had to use so many cans of air freshener on my room after I leave my trainers in there overnight. I get complaints constantly about the smell so they weren’t really ideal for wearing out & about. These trainers are so pretty, I absolutely love them. They were very expensive, but Nike stuff always is! I know if I was rich I’d spend the majority of my money on Nike stuff. They’re very comfortable and I still don’t know if I’ll wear them purely as wearing out trainers or sports trainers as well yet but I’ll decide as time goes on.
Canon EOS 1300D Camera with EFS 18-55mm Lens – Curry’s PC World – £270.00
I broke my last camera (which was no where near as nice as this one) while I was in the desert in Jordan exactly a year ago. Either I got sand in the lens and it broke or my face was so ugly it broke the camera as my last photo on it was a selfie…that’s awkward! Anyway I’d done a year without a camera and had been using the camera on my phone for photos, which is a very good camera, but I just felt less comfortable taking photos on my phone. And also especially blog photos, when the photos were transferred to my computer screen, they just seemed to become ore pixelated and less good. This was also an early Christmas present of a sort. When I first decided that I wanted a new camera, my parents offered to get it for me for Christmas (not long to go now!) but, me being me, I couldn’t wait that long so I bought it with money from my bank account (which I’m meant to be saving for University…) and then my parents will give me some money to pay back  some of the money I took out my bank account. I don’t know if that makes sense! Anyway, so far I love it, I still have a lot to learn but I’m so excited to take lots of photos in the next year. You can check out my favourite photos I’ve taken so far here…. Maybe I’ll start doing YouTube videos (not likely though because that involves showing your face and mine’s ugly as!!)
Hope you enjoyed this mini haul!
Let me know down below what you’ve brought recently and if you have a camera.

A photo diary: October Half Term

Heya! ( I feel that’s such an American phrase, not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

I currently a week and a half back into term and I can honestly tell you it’s KILLING me! I don’t think I’ve ever been this tired in my life! Anyway, to try and distract myself from the large amounts of homework and revision I have piling up, I decided to write a blog post and throw it back to the half term holidays.
I recently got a new camera which I will be talking more about in a later post but for now I’ll just tell you how much I’m loving the quality although I still have lots to learn about it (for example, how to focus as you might notice in some of these photos!)
Here’s how my holiday went:

This is Moreton Hall which is a ‘National Trust’ building in Shropshire. We basically just stopped here for lunch on our way ‘up north but while we were there I tested out my camera. The very cute dog is the younger of my two dogs. so, yeah!

I think this is Keswick in the Lake district, or actually, it’s not but it’s somewhere around there (if you know where it is please tell me in the comments!). We stayed in Windermere for two days to break up the journey, can’t say we did much but it was very pretty and cold and rainy but still great!

This is Me at my uncle’s birthday party in Scotland. I can’t decide if I like it because (as always) I didn’t do that much with my makeup so yeah… Yet I still decided to share it….
And then more recently I carved these, with pumpkins from the sale. Did you know that the pumpkins are £2.50 in the lead up to Halloween but only 50p the day after? No, well there you go, an interesting fact for you. My pumpkin wasn’t quite as ‘grand’ as I expected but still it’s an improvement on last year! Next year will be better.

And then Bonfire night, also my parent’s wedding anniversary! I am aware quite a few of these are blurry but I’m still learning to focus even with auto-focus, let’s just pretend it’s an arty blur. And these are the best of the 500 photos I took that night!

Thank you all for reading/viewing this! Don’t know if you enjoyed it but still, here’s a post for you! Let me know what you think in the comments and I’ll talk to you all soon!

Wilkos Bath Bomb review

I love LUSH. I love Bath Bombs. I don’t have the money to constantly buy LUSH bath bombs so I decided to try our a cheaper option. The Wilkinsons Fruit Bath Bomb. For those who don’t know, Wilkinsons (or Wilkos as most people know it) is a small, cheap supplies shop in England. I’m not sure if that’s a good description but you get the idea, it’s cheap!

According to the label, the ‘Fruits’ bath bomb is a ‘Rhubarb & Vanilla Fragrance Explosion’. It is 170g and costs 95p. So yes, it’s definitely cheap!
The packaging wasn’t great. I don’t know what it is about LUSH, but no one seems to mind it just comes in a paper bag. This came in a tight bright pink plastic bag and I couldn’t get the bath bomb out of the bag for ages. Once you’re inside. remember to take of a layer of plastic surrounding the product. I didn’t realise it was there and couldn’t work out why the bath bomb wasn’t working  when I added it to water. Once you take it off, the actual bath bomb is quite pretty.

It’s a sort of speckled cream and pink sphere. It wasn’t the bright colours that LUSH has but it seemed quite sophisticated.
It became especially disappointing for me once you added it to your bath. Nothing really happened. It fizzed for a while but not violent fizzing and gave off no colour. That’s my favourite part of a bath bomb (although not for my mum, she always panics that I’ll stain the bath with them!). Instead, it turned the water cloudy for a short time before returning to clear water. The smell was really lovely, I’d have been happy to wear body spray smelling like that but it also didn’t last long. All in all, if someone had gone into the bathroom after I’d had a bath, even if I’d left the water in, they wouldn’t have been able to tell you I’d used a bath bomb.

Overall, I don’t like this bath bomb. There wasn’t something wrong with it as such but it didn’t impress me enough to use it again. If you don’t like colour in the bath when using bath bombs and only take short (5-10 minutes) baths you might just about be able to manage with this but I know I won’t be buying this again.

Have you ever tried a Wilkos bath bomb? What did you think?
Leave me suggestions of other bath bombs to try below.

Liebster Award #1

When I first started blogging, I scanned the blogs I loved for post ideas. One post I saw so often were the Liebster Award posts but the problem I had there was that you needed to be nominated for them before you did them… Now, finally, almost 5 months after I started this blog, I’ve been nominated for my first (I think) Liebster Award. Thanks to the lovely Sarah over at Little Reader for nominating me!

The rules are:

  1. Thank whoever nominated you.
  2. Post 11 facts about yourself (optional)
  3. Answer the 11 questions you have been given
  4. Nominate at least 5, but no more than 11 other bloggers
  5. Create 11 other questions for your nominees
    Facts about me:
    1. I’m 15 years old
    2. I have one sibling, a younger brother called William (although he’d kill me for saying that, according to him, his name is Will)
    3. I had braces for 9 months to sort out my ‘vampire teeth’
    4. I live on a smallholding (a mini farm)
    5. I hate being left home alone as my house is very creeky and I always think there’s someone else in the house
    6. I row for more than 13 hours a week
    7. When I was 4, I had eye correction surgery where basically they took my eye out of the socket and put it back in at a different angle
    8. I have to wear glasses or contacts constantly as my eyesight is very poor (+5 in my left eye and +6 in my right for anyone who understands what that means.
    9. This is about the 7th blog I’ve started. All the others started off well but I forgot about before I got to 100 page views. Tragic, I know.
    10. I’m 5ft 9″
    11. I once won a competition to design the underside of the UK’s biggest skateboard. It was so cool! I think the skateboard’s in a skate park in  Liverpool (Rampworx ?) if you want to try and find it…
    1. Who’s your favourite person in the entire world? This is so hard!! There are 3 main people are strong contenders for this: \my mum and my friends, Emily and Bea. The only downsides to each of them is that we fall out (because I’m annoying and weird) but as I was reading the other day, arguing is a sight that you care about each other.
    2. What’s your dream job? My dream job is, and has been for at least 7 years, a vet. I don’t really know why but it’s just what I want to do. I do have a list of possible other jobs if all else fails though!
    3. What character are you most alike, TV/Movie/Book ? I’ve been thinking about this ever since I saw I was nominated but I can’t think of anyone… Someone really clumsy with a knack of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Leave your ideas in the comments!
    4. What hobbies do you have (other than blogging)? Well, besides blogging, I also do rowing, I play the oboe, I love reading, I try to do dog agility which I love but it require time which I’m struggling with at the moment. I like baking but I don’t do it that often and I like writing stories (one of my back-up jobs I mentioned above is to be an author )
    5. How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Crazy, Clumsy, Weird
    6. What get’s you really excited!? CHRISTMAS!!! CHOCOLATE!!! A GOOD BOOK!! WRAPPING PRESENTS!! I am easily excited!
    7. Do you have a nickname, if so, what is it? Well, technically, Kate is a nickname as my full name is Katherine but other than that I don’t have a nickname. One of the girls I hung out with a few years ago tried to give us all animal nicknames and gave me the name Walrus… Surprisingly, I’m not friends with her anymore and the nickname never stuck!!
    8. Sun or Snow? This is such a hard one! I love sun because I love the summer holidays and I relate sun with that and also I love getting a tan also, obviously, requires sun. I’m also a naturally freezing person and so I love the sun as it’s the one time I feel comfortable without 10 jumpers! But, on the other hand, snow is great as well! For me, snow is so rare here so it’s extra special. As long as I wear enough layers, I love it. What I don’t like is cold weather without snow (i.e. Now!)
    9. Countryside or City? For me, definitely the countryside. I’ve always lived in it and I feel there is so much freedom and it’s quieter etc. I can see benefits to the city, it’s easier to get everywhere, normally friends are close by, you can pop out to get a pint of milk without it being an half an hour round trip! I’d love to live in the city at least once in my life to experience it but I prefer the countryside.
    10. What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? Possibly internet because I need to know what’s happening in the world at all times or possibly chocolate because it’s my FAVOURITE THING ON EARTH!!!
    11. If there was something you could learn more about, what would it be? This might sound a strange one , but I was at a fireworks display yesterday because it was bonfire night, and I’d love to know more about how firework work and their colours and sounds etc!
    I nominate:
    My questions for you:
    1. How tall are you?
    2. Your birthday or Christmas?
    3. What’s your earliest memory?
    4. How long have you been blogging for? And has it always been the same blog?
    5. Do you have any pets (if not, what would you like)?
    6. Who are your 3 favourite Youtubers?
    7. If you could have any accent, what one would you choose?
    8. Which country is top of your to-be-visited list?
    9. Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring. Which season is your favourite?
    10. Do you ever read magasines anymore? If so which?
    11. Would you rather: Not be able to do anything to your eyebrows or not be able to wear concealer and foundation?
Sorry, if the questions are weird. That’s basically my brain written down- all jumbled up and confusing!
Thank you so much Sarah for nominating me, I finally feel like a proper blogger now!
