Blogger buddies- Kate Emsley from Thumbelina

It was my birthday yesterday!!!

A few weeks ago the lovely Anna from ‘Thumbelina‘ interviewed me for her first person in her new series ‘Blogger Buddies’. She is so nice and agreed to let me share the interview here. Please go and check out her blog and leave a comment and then leave a comment on this post and I’ll return the kindness. Right, here we go!

Hello everyone and welcome to the very first interview of Blogger Buddies. Today we meet the lovely Kate Emsley who’s blog is called ‘My Internet Home’.

1. Hi, Kate and welcome to the first interview of my new project ‘Blogger Buddies’, What made you want to join ?

Hello! I started ‘My Internet Home’ just over a month ago so I’m relatively new and I wanted to get involved with other bloggers and their blogs. I saw you talk about this on Twitter which is where I’ve got to know all my blogging friends and thought it was a great opportunity. I think the blogging community, especially the teen blogging community, is such a loving place and I’d love to get some good friends. 🙂

2.What topics do you cover on your blog ?
At the moment, I’ve left it very open to what I’m going to cover and I’m just going to write about what I like but I’ll mainly be talking about books, travel and general lifestyle. However, I am getting into makeup but I’m not very good… Maybe when I’m better I will blog about it! I want to be able to write about what I want without messing up my chosen theme so I’ve decided not to choose a theme if that makes sense!

3. You’ve recently done a post on the things that you are excited to do this summer , how many have you accomplished?
I broke up from school 1 week ago, on the 8th, and so far I’ve completed 5 of 15. I’m quite impressed with myself! I’ve got freedom from school, I’ve met up with my cousins, I’ve finished my bronze D of E and my scuba diving award and I’m currently visiting my Grandad. The next 2 things I’m doing is visiting my French Exchange and going to YALC (I’m going on Friday, let me know if you’ll be there then). At the moment, though, I keep forgetting it’s the summer holiday: It’s HORRIBLE weather!

4.What made you decide to start a blog?
Whilst I want to be a vet when I grow up, I’m worried about getting the grades I need for getting into university and my next possible job is being and author and/or a journalist. I am writing the blog because I want to practise my writing  and get experience for that but also because I constantly have ideas of what I want to write about and I needed somewhere to share my ideas. I’ve been reading other people’s blogs for years and thought, ‘Why can’t I do that?’!

5. Let’s travel in time to the year 2025, what has your blog achieved ?
Ok, so that’s 9 years. In 9 years I would like to think that my blog would have brought me a lot of fun and opportunities and friends. I hope to still be writing what I want and have met some great people. By then, I hope to have written about 1500 posts. I don’t know really, I haven’t thought that far in the future but I definitely will (hopefully!) be blogging.
6.What is the perfect recipe for a blog ?
